AbstractThe newsletter reports results from the National Special Education Curricula Survey completed by state department officials, college and university staff, and personnel from schools, community agencies, and special projects across the country. Respondents identified 230 exemplary special education curricula. Those curricula are listed alphabetically by title and provide information on source, source address, copyright date, approximate price, number of pages, recommended exceptionality area(s) and recommended level(s). A subject index in the beginning of the newsletter groups curricula by 14 disability types: mild mental retardation; moderate mental retardation; severe/profound mental handicaps; emotional handicaps; speech, hearing, and language disabilities; learning disabilities; blindness/visual impairments; giftedness; physical handicaps; multiple handicaps; career/vocational disabilities; deafness and hearing impairments; infancy; and preschool handicaps. Twenty-two subject areas are also identified: adaptive physical education, autism, bilingual, daily living, discipline, deaf/blind, English/spelling, IEP, juvenile detention, mainstreaming, math, non-vocal, paraprofessionals, parents, profession training, sex education, social studies, wheelchair training, affective education, study skills, science, and recreation/leisure.
